Activities:

1. Students identified shapes as the teacher held it up. Students counted the sides and corners of a triangle and square. Students were then given a group of pattern blocks. Students sorted the shapes into groups according to either color or shape name. Students also practiced drawing shapes on a whiteboard. Students drew the shapes to create real-life images such as a house, cat, and spider.
