1. Students used a die to count and practice number formation. Students rolled a number with their die and would write the number from the die on a whiteboard. If students didn't know how to write the number, the teacher would provide it.

2. Students were later given 2 dice to roll, creating larger quantities to write.

Activities:

1. Students used a bowlful of pattern blocks to practice sorting and represent data. Students sorted their pattern blocks acording to shape. Students then moved the pattern blocks around to put the blocks in a ways that was easier to "read" the data. Students counted the amount for each shape and determined which shapes had the most, least, or equal amounts of.
