Activities:

1. Students were shown a number sequence 1-10 with a couple of numbers covered. Students had to identify which numbers were covered by going through the number sequence.

2. Students were given number cards and had to determine and put the cards in order together. Students worked with bigger numbers, 11-20.

3. Students then were introduced to numbers 21-30. Students practiced identifying and naming the numbers by rolling a die. Students had to match the number they rolled to another number on a noise maker and jumped on it.

4. Students then completed connect the dot sheets wiht numbers 1-20.    Home Exploration

Compose larger shapes from smaller shapes (two small triangles can make a rectangle).

Activities:

1. Students started off sorting pattern blocks into shape groups. Students had to recreate a drawn image using the pattern blocks. Students identified shapes as the teacher held up different pattern blocks. Students were given the challenge of creating composite shapes using multiple pattern blocks. Students started off matching the image the teacher created with teacher guidance. Then students were shown how to create a triangle using a combination of pattern blocks. Students practiced building upon the triangle to create a bigger one.    Home Exploration
