  • were given pieces of food (candy cane, donuts, etc.) of various sizes
  • shared one type of food with themselves and a specific amount of friends using plates
  • showed equal amounts on each plate to show equal parts
  • created shapes using playdoh and used a ruler to cut the shape to create equal parts
  • discovered they can show equal parts by placing each piece on top of each other to see if it was the same size and shape
  • used problem solving skills to create equal groups of blocks (same amount and colors one each side).
