1. Students learned and used the "Box Method" to solve multiplication problems.

2. Students filled in the boxes and explained verbally why each number goes where it was placed. They used place-value vocabulary.

3. Students filled in the boxes for the multiplication portion and then showed how it all came together by adding.    ### Home Exploration

Activities:

1. Students reviewed the acronym "CUBES" and stated verbally what each letter stood for.

2. Students used different colored crayons to represent the "CUB" part of the acronym and applied it in each word problem. They used one color to circle important numbers, one color to underline the question, and another color to box important words.

3. After doing those steps, students used their whiteboards for teh "ES" part of the acronym. They evaluated the problem, decided what operations they would be using while rereading the word problem line by line. Then, they solved each problem. They also used pictures to represent their problem and to help them solve it.    ### Home Exploration
