### Target 1

###### Lesson Type:

Continuation

Number Operation

:

Number Reltionships

Use an inequality to express the possible numbers that a variable could represent.

###### 1:

Determine all the integers that satisfy a given inequality with a variable.

###### 2:

Represent inequalities on a number line.

4th

###### Vocabulary:

Positive, Negative, Inequality, Compare, Greater than, Less than, Equal to, Number line

Activities:

1. Students wrote an inequality to express the number line. Students wrote an equation that compares positive and negative numbers.

### Target 2

:

###### 1:

Compare decimals (up to the hundredths place).

4th

###### Vocabulary:

Compare, Decimal, Hundredths place, Place value

Activities:

1. Students played a game using dice. They rolled the dice and created a number. Each student told me verbally what their number is and how to read it. Also, told me what it represents place value wise. They needed to compare their numbers and see who had the largest number. They played 10 rounds.

2. Students played a game of "Decimal War." They used a variety of printed numbers. Each player flipped over a printed number card and compared it. The player with the larger number took both cards.

3. Given a variety of decimal task cards, students need to show their thinking. The cards included comparing decimals, showing what each decimal number represented on base ten pieces to compare it, showing what each decimal number represented on a number line, and compared decimals arranging it from least to greatest and greatest to least.
