Activities:

Students played the card game "War". A deck of cards was split evenly in to two piles. Each student flipped one card over and compared to determine which number was greater. The student with the greater number collected the cards played. When each student ran out of cards to flip, the student with the most collected cards was the winner.

Activities:

Students represented numbers from 0-20 using ten frames and identified it on a numberline. We discussed how numberlines are straight and have equal spacing between each number.

Students then used numberlines to help them solve one step addition word problems.
