• Students were given a set of three equations involving up to 4 operations, and used problem solving skills to determine the values of the unknown variables.

Activities:

• Students answered questions using the data in a given venn diagram. They learned that each circle represented one category, and the overlapping area represented both categories. They also used a key to understand that each dot represented 10 people, and adjusted their answers accordingly.
• Students were given a set of data and completed a venn diagram to represent the data.
• Students created their own venn diagram using data collected from our class about two categories of their own choice. Rather than using dots or symbols, they wrote names to help them keep track of who they collected data from. Then they used their data to answer "how many" questions.    ### Home Exploration
