- Students read the story "Inch by Inch" to develop the understanding that we can measure how long something is with nonstandard units, like the inchworm's body.
- Students used an inchworm measuring stick to measure how long an animal was and wrote down its length. They used their measurements to figure out which animal was the longest and which was the shortest.
