Activities:

  • Students played a Feed the Monster game. They were given a description of a number and had to find and feed it to the monster. Descriptions included one more, one less, addition, and subtraction.
  • Students identified the number that was greater or less when given two numerals.
  • Students wrote the missing numbers in a number sequence.
  • Students practiced identifying the different types of coins. Each coin was shown in a pumpkin, with a witch hiding behind one of them. They took turns trying to find the witch by identifying the coin shown on the pumpkin and then flipping it over to see if there witch was there.
